RRTI is proposed to support the introduction and management of digital tachographs for professional road transport.

The e-learning system describes the first-generation digital tachograph as a system for controlling drivers' driving and rest periods.

It is proposed for professional vehicles transporting passengers or goods with a maximum permissible mass exceeding 7.5 tonnes. New vehicles put into service for the first time in Rwanda are described as being subject to the requirement to comply with driving and rest periods through the use of digital tachographs.
